OH, HELL NO.
On December 1st, 2025, the federal government launched Operation Metro Surge, deploying ICE agents and other federal enforcement officers to the greater Twin Cities metro areas and western Wisconsin. By January there were thousands of ICE agents present in these areas, terrifying neighbors and detaining people, many who have been living in neighborhoods for many years and have legal status. Many people have been wounded and some even killed during their violent “enforcement” tactics.
The fear is palpable—and rightly so.
No one should have to face these unjust circumstances alone.
That’s why community members across Wisconsin are building hyper-local, rapid response teams and infrastructure to support families who are at risk for abduction. We’re patrolling our communities, reporting on ICE activity in real-time, and training more responders to grow our capacity.
Our mission: To build solidarity and actively protect our families, friends, and neighbors from injustice everywhere they live and work.
ALLIANCE FOR SAFE & PROSPEROUS COMMUNITIES
Over a dozen local leaders, including non-profits, faith leaders, farmers, and concerned community members came together and formed the Alliance in late 2025. Our purpose is to ensure that refugees, immigrants, and racial minorities are treated humanely and with justice.
